It took a year to read the Bible, then almost 9 months to read the Apocrypha. Now, I'm going to try to offer reflections on the Narrative Lectionary. But, I won't be posting daily--at least, for a while.

Several years ago, Taylor Burton-Edwards warned that the practice of using themes for the Sundays in Advent, such as hope, peace, joy, and love or witness, prophet, exhortation, shepherd because such practice might  "to domesticate the radical claims of these texts about the 'destructive salvation' of this world by the inbreaking of God's kingdom."
