It took a year to read the Bible, then almost 9 months to read the Apocrypha. Now, I'm going to try to offer reflections on the Narrative Lectionary. But, I won't be posting daily--at least, for a while.

Lectionary Choices for this Sunday

The lectionary provides a choice for the upcoming Sunday. All Saints Day is November 1, but churches that don't have worship services that day may celebrate this occasion on the first Sunday of November. Otherwise, this Sunday is the 22nd Sunday after Pentecost.

Readings for 22nd Sunday after Pentecost:
Job 42:1-6, 10-17; Psalm 34:1-8 (9-22); or
Jeremiah 31:7-9; Psalm 126;
Hebrews 7:23-28;
Mark 10:46-52;

Readings for All Saints Day:
Wisdom of Solomon 3:1-9; or Isaiah 25:6-9; Psalm 24;
Revelation 21:1-6a;
John 11:32-44

The GBOD offers suggestions for liturgy for All Saints Day.
