The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it,
the world, and those who live in it;
for he has founded it on the seas,
and established it on the rivers.

who do not lift up their souls to what is false,
and do not swear deceitfully.

3 Brothers and sisters, we must always thank God for you. This is only right because your faithfulness is growing by leaps and bounds, and the love that all of you have for each other is increasing. 4 That’s why we ourselves are bragging about you in God’s churches. Prayer for Today: God, we give you thanks for all the faithful Christians who have shown us your love, who have demonstrated faithfulness through troubles. Make us worthy of your calling. Strengthen us to accomplish faithful work. Amen.

Psalm 44
We have heard with our ears, O God,
our ancestors have told us,
what deeds you performed in their days,
in the days of old:

For not in my bow do I trust,
nor can my sword save me.
But you have saved us from our foes,
and have put to confusion those who hate us.
In God we have boasted continually,
and we will give thanks to your name forever. Selah
Yet you have rejected us and abased us,
and have not gone out with our armies.

You have made us the taunt of our neighbors,
the derision and scorn of those around us.
You have made us a byword among the nations,

All day long my disgrace is before me,
