It took a year to read the Bible, then almost 9 months to read the Apocrypha. Now, I'm going to try to offer reflections on the Narrative Lectionary. But, I won't be posting daily--at least, for a while.

Lectio Divina, June 8

Do I eat the flesh of bulls,
or drink the blood of goats?
Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving,
and pay your vows to the Most High (Ps. 50:13-14).

Then the disciples of John came to him, saying,
"Why do we and the Pharisees fast often,
but your disciples do not fast?" (Mt. 9:14)
